LearningOn the D45 Board of Education, I will continue to stay informed about state and national standards and practices, support a safe and inclusive learning and work environment, and collaborate to ensure that all students have the tools they need to be successful, life-long learners, who are ready to meet the challenges of the contemporary world. I will support a well-rounded curriculum and, as part of that curriculum, thriving programs in music, art, and physical education.

ListeningI affirm a love of community. I embrace the responsibility to engage and listen to my neighbors. In asking for your vote on April 4, 2023, I promise to listen. I recognize and respect the inherent human dignity of my neighbors, seek opportunities to learn more about your lived experience, and actively work toward amplifying marginalized voices. I will continue to bring that commitment to public service, and will support efforts to empower D45 students as they explore and learn how to claim, develop, and use their voices.

Diversity, Equity, and InclusionI will support students with specialized educational needs, and affirm that I value programs that support and enrich the educational experiences of students with disabilities. I also stand against hatred and bigotry. I pledge to protect and defend students against injustice and harm directed against their religion, immigration journey, skin color, sexual orientation, or any other identity characteristic. I will do all that I can to ensure that students feel safe and welcome in our community. I will be proactive in assessing needs, seeking input, and recruiting diverse voices to join our school community.

Decision MakingAs a decision maker, I will use a wide, analytical lens. I will draw on my experience as a parent and educator, give voice to constituents, and seek out additional sources of information. I'll do the hard work of digging deep for information and being an attentive listener. You can count on me to do my homework.

Stewardship and SustainabilityAs a teacher, I’m a proud member of the Stewardship and Sustainability Committee at my institution. This group of dedicated faculty and staff supports efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, maintain protected wildlife and water runoff areas, create natural green spaces and a community garden on campus, host electronics recycling events, encourage paper waste reduction, and advocate for campus policies and practices that respect and acknowledge our responsibility to be good stewards of our planet. I pledge to support creative and science-based environmental design and practices in D45 that benefit our local community and prepare our students to be responsible global citizens.
